Fire glass is glass that has been fire tested with or without a frame and has successfully prevented the passage of fire and hot gases to the protected side for a defined period of time.

The fact that the fire glass has a certificate alone is not sufficient for it to gain the feature of “fire-resistant joinery” when placed in any (steel, aluminum, etc.) frame. The frame (frame-wing / fixed partition) and accessories are tested together and certified as a system.
